Solitude by Michael Harris(EBook Reviews)

Hello, Welcome to Promote kindle book, meet other people that publish. My name is Maria and today we’re talking about “Solitude” by Michael Harris.

The main concept that this book focuses on is that it’s ok to be alone.

And that’s something that I definitely struggled with for a long period of time.

Solitude doesn’t mean loneliness, they are very different things.

But the concept of being alone today is often seen as weird.

One thing Michael Harris said that really stood out to me in this book is that if you can’t daydream and be alone in your own thoughts, you’re not at peace with yourself.

This book is not necessarily a critique of all technology and that technology is bad, but it definitely highlights how technology has made us so prone to always wanting to be connected.

Yes, social media is great and our ability to connect at any time is amazing, but it’s also created this fake connection that still leaves us feeling disconnected.

The book really talks about how important it is to be able to reflect independently, disconnect.

Now, let’s go over some of the positives and who I think should be reading this book.

One thing I love about this book is that it’s truly thought provoking.

This book really highlighted how important it is in living a peaceful and happy life, the ability to be disconnected at times and be able to appreciate your own thoughts independently.

I also appreciate that Harris uses personal experiences and also industry experts.

He draws on his own experience of challenging himself to live in complete isolation for an extended period of time.

But then he also talks with experts in various industries to understand this phenomenon of solitude and how it works and the benefits of it, and the issues we face in today’s technology driven world.

Who should be reading this book?

If you’re dealing with feelings of loneliness and confusion this book could be very helpful in understanding what might be causing that, because more often than not, these feelings of wanting to be alone and independent for periods of time are natural.

So I think if you’re feeling lonely and disconnected even though you have all these people around you, this book will definitely help answer some questions and guide you in the right direction.

I also think if you use technology a lot, if you’re on your phone a lot, this book will be very useful in making you question your behaviors and you’ll be able to better understand who you are and the issues that you may be facing.

So I think if you use technology a lot, which is the case for a lot of young people including myself, this book would be very useful.

That’s it, that’s my book review of “Solitude” by Michael Harris.
